Grin
A MimbleWimble currency with no addresses and no amounts on-chain. Privacy isn't a setting you switch on — it's the ground it's built on.
Fair-launched, no premine, a steady 1 GRIN/second forever.
A self-hosted relay for Grin — the currency with no addresses and no visible amounts. It carries encrypted slatepacks between wallets so people pay privately, by name. Connect over wss://.
relay.grin.money/Add this to your goblin / Grin wallet's relay list — here's where:
In goblin, relays live under Settings → Nostr Relays. Paste the URL above into Add relay, then Save & reconnect — one reachable relay is enough to receive.
The lore & the plumbing
MimbleWimble's whitepaper was signed by a certain dark lord; its first builder wrote as the folklore keeper of an invisibility cloak. The cryptography lives up to the myth.
Grin transactions are interactive — sender and receiver build each payment together by exchanging a slatepack. A relay lets that happen asynchronously and encrypted, so you never post an address, run a listener, or coordinate timing.

Slatepacks travel as Nostr messages, sealed end-to-end with NIP-44. The relay stores and forwards ciphertext — it never sees an amount, a key, or a balance.
Offline? The message waits until your wallet returns.
floonet is the Grin-native relay stack; goblin is the wallet that speaks it — pay-by-name over Nostr, carried over Tor.
Run your own relay and you rent no one's infrastructure.
Relay information
Served live as a NIP-11 document — the little it's willing to say about itself. Wallets read it before connecting.
Beyond Grin
Underneath, this is a hardened general-purpose Nostr relay — Grin is just the traffic it was tuned for. The same box can quietly do a few other things for you.
Sealed Nostr direct messages — NIP-17 gift wrap, NIP-44 encryption — are exactly what this relay is built to carry. Point any Nostr client's DM relay here and your private messages stop resting on somebody else's server.
Nothing to configure: the envelope kinds are carried by default.
Your profile, contact list and relay list are accepted by default, so a copy of who you are lives somewhere you control — not only on public relays that can drop it.
Text notes stay closed unless the operator opens them to chosen authors. This is a personal keep, not a public timeline.
Nostr only stays uncensorable while relays stay plural. Most people lean on a handful of big public ones; every self-hosted relay moves a little traffic back off them.
Deliberately narrow — it carries wallet and messaging traffic, not the whole firehose.
Operators can restrict which message types and which authors this relay accepts — the relay information above is what it will admit to carrying today.
